Project CFA

Background

2020 was a year like no other in recent history. The New Year began with great hope and high expectations around the globe. Life was steady, predictable, and mostly normal. Unfortunately, in early January 2020, the world first learned that Chinese officials were probing an unidentified pneumonia outbreak in the city of Wuhan in Hubei province. 27 people were reported to be ill due to conditions linked to a local seafood market. Unfortunately, that so-called flu was actually Covid-19, a very dangerous and deadly SARS coronavirus. With little warning, Covid-19 spread around the globe sparing no individual or nation.

Europe was hit hard first, and eventually Covid-19 showed up in the states of Washington, Oregon, California and New York. As the number of cases and deaths grew, the world struggled to grasp the impact of what was happening. Because the virus was new, nobody knew quite what to expect. The end result is that the initial outbreak became the Covid 19 Global Pandemic. Beginning in mid-March, both the global and American economies came to a screeching halt. Workers were ordered to shelter in place, many businesses shut down, and the global economy went into a severe recession.

It is now March 2021. It has been 12 months since the original shut-down. Sadly, many individuals, families, business organizations and government agencies are struggling. Many are afraid, unsure of what to do, and stuck. The old normal no longer exists. As leaders and employees work remotely and virtual, a next normal is being created as the Covid Pandemic endures. Though it is a difficult time in history, we must all begin to work together to get unstuck, and begin to move forward once again.

 Three Questions

  1. Are you or your organization currently stuck?

  2. What’s your strategy for going forward?

  3. What is your plan for 2021-2022?

Project CFA Overview

Beginning in mid-March, I began to participate on a global research initiative on the Covid-19 crisis, that looks at the current situation and anticipates scenarios going forward. It looks at the problem from a systemic point of few, though clearly the economy; how we do work; and what the new normal will be; is top-of-mind. I have also learned from my clients, fellow colleagues, and friends about their situations, and have certainly validated how many are, and remain stuck. During the past 8 months I have worked diligently to identify ideas that may help individuals, leaders, and organizations begin a transformation to the next normal.

Project CFA is an attempt to provide leaders and organizations, who are currently paralyzed by Covid-19, with a simple, affordable, innovative, and on-demand way to become unstuck. It will enable them to transform for the next normal.

Our Customer-Feedback-Assessment is one of the tools we have successfully used over the years to help our clients improve business performance.  We use the CFA during the initial Business Assessment stage of a client engagement in order to understand the current state of the organization, and what opportunities and problems may exist. As we plan for 2021 and the new normal, we have decided to share our CFA approach through an initiative we are calling Project CFA. Our sincere hope is that it may enable leaders and organizations who are paralyzed by Covid-19 to get unstuck.

CFA Methodology

The high-level methodology is simple, affordable, innovative, and on-demand.

Summary

We are committed to helping leaders and their organizations improve business performance. The CFA Project provides a very effective way to acquire the crucial qualitative customer feedback that is necessary for solving critical business problems and identifying new opportunities. Though simple in terms of the process, it is structured in a manner that uncovers the massive value hiding in your customer’s feedback, and drives rapid, measurable action and results. We want to encourage you to give it a try as you approach the 2021 business year. Please know we would be happy to perform a CFA engagement for you; teach you how to conduct a CFA engagement with your own internal customer coach; or simply to receive your feedback on what we might do to strengthen our solution approach. We also encourage you to share the two documents with others and encourage them to give it a try. Thank you for your consideration. We wish you the very best for a great year ahead as we continue to transition to the next normal.
